Tuesday Treats: Snickerdoodle Bars

2 2/3 cup flour
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
2 cups packed brown sugar
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
2 eggs
1 Tbsp vanilla extract
2 Tbsp sugar
2 tsp cinnamon

1.  Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Lightly grease 9 X 13 pan.
2.  Whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg in medium bowl.  Set aside.

3.  Beat together butter and brown sugar until fluffy.

4.  Add eggs, one at a time.  Add vanilla.  Beat until thoroughly combined.  
5.  Add flour mixture slowly and beat until combined.

6.  Spread mixture into 9 X 13 pan.

7.  Stir together cinnamon and sugar.  Sprinkle on top mixture.

8.  Bake for 25-30 minutes, until surfaced springs back when gently touched.

9.  Let cool completely, then cut into squares.

10.  Store in airtight container.


PS…my advise:  Make in the morning while the windows are open, coffee is brewing…made my Saturday morning!
