Quick Trip to NYC

I was lucky enough to escape Baltimore for a quick trip to NYC this week.
I headed out Tuesday via the train and we checked into the Waldorf that evening.  I've been in the Waldorf before, but never had the chance to stay, so I was pretty excited.  It was the perfect location!

After a nice dinner out on the town and a relaxing evening, I was ready to take on NYC and all it's shopping on Wednesday morning.  My first stop was to get in line for tickets to see "Wicked."  My family is heading up to NYC again in April for my grandmother's birthday.  A girls trip up north to see the show, do some shopping, go to church at St. Patrick's Cathedral, and of course, celebrate the birthday girl!  Online tickets were close to $260 each, so my aunt suggested I try to see what I could find when I was there.  The guy at the window said it must have been my lucky day because we scored all the tickets  sitting together for just over $150 each and apparently they are great seats!

I was able to meet up with a friend for coffee and then headed out to shop!!
I couldn't have asked for a better shopping day.  The sun was shining and temperature was perfect!
On my way to 5th Avenue, I walked through Central Park.  Couldn't have asked for more beautiful scenery on my day off!

Of course, my first stop…Bloomingdales!  Oh as soon as I walk in those doors I feel right at home!

However, I have to say, the Big B disappointed this trip :(
I was looking for this Tory Burch top, but it was no where in sight.

I also was looking for a pair of Marc Jacobs earrings I have been eyeing and a particular pair of sunglasses…none were found.  But I could still walk around and "window shop" all day there!

I walked around 5th Avenue for the majority of the day.  I stopped in many stores, but my goal was not to buy anything I couldn't find at home.  Why lug it all the way home on the train when I can get it at home?  And pay less tax, not to mention.  I did find one shirt in J.Crew that my friend and I have been eyeing up FOREVER!  It was on backorder in December, saying it would be in by February.  Now, it says it will be in by April….Hmmm, J.Crew, this does not make me happy!  So, I found it for my friend and scooped it up for her (they didn't have petite sizes for me).

Then I headed over to Sak's and found the cutest pair of TB sandals.  I cannot find them anywhere else, or even a picture, but it is basicall this Thora sandal in a patent leather tan.  I am in loooove with these!

After a little more shopping and lunch, we met up and headed home on the train.
It's nice to have someone carry your shopping bags for you ;)

And then I was able to come home to this adorable face.  How could you not miss him?!

Being the terrible "mom" I am, I forgot to bring him home anything.  Instead, we played with his ball for what seemed like an eternity to make up for it!

Hope you are having a wonderful week!
